Decluttering & Organizing

6 Ways To Get Organized This March

It’s a new month! The best month of the year because it’s my birthday month.

Okay, so I’m being a little biased, but there is another good reason to love the month of March … Spring!

The First Day of Spring is right around the corner and I don’t know about you but I’m ready to do some deep cleaning and organizing.

Today, I want to help you get a jump start by knowing the top ways to get organized!

Organize Your Clothes

When the seasons change, it’s my favorite time to declutter our clothing. Especially my kids stuff. They grow out of everything so fast!

Even if you don’t have little ones, it’s important to go through your own seasonal wardrobe and check to make sure that what you have you still love.

Some people go as far as to have just seasonal items hang in their closets and put away what’s not in season inside drawers. And that makes sense to me.

It’s the same thing retail stores do! My local Walmart right now is already swapping out long sleeves for short sleeve tops in the Women’s department.

I personally hang everything in my closet and then arrange them by sleeve length. However, do whatever works best for you!

Organize Your Makeup

Springtime means more brunches (yes, this mama loves mimosas) and getting outdoors. You will want to get cute and throw on some makeup to look and feel your best!

You might as well go through your makeup bags and drawers now and declutter all the products you don’t want.

Organize Your Pantry

Spring season is also ant season so it’s a good time to get inside your pantry to wipe down shelves, vacuum crumbs, and reorganize what’s inside.

I just organized my own pantry not too long ago for under $50!!! You can watch the entire transformation here on my YouTube channel.

Organize Your Linen Closet

I don’t know who needs to hear this but, a linen closet is not a junk closet.

You need this space for your towels, toiletries, extra sheets, and blankets. Maybe medicine, supplies for cleaning, first aid, hair care & hygiene too.

Whatever you choose to store in there, be intentional about it so that the space works for you, not against you.

Organize Your Coat Closet

When the weather breaks, it’s time to swap the heavy coats for lighter jackets and boots for sneakers. Yay!

Your coat closet has probably been messy all winter long and there’s no better time than now to get it under control.

Organize Underneath Your Sinks

I keep cleaning supplies under every sink in our home. You don’t need a ton of products.

In your bathroom, at the minimum, you’ll only need to have some disinfectant wipes, toilet bowl cleaner, tub & shower cleaner, glass cleaner, and a foaming bathroom cleaner for your vanity.

Under my kitchen sink, I keep dishwasher tabs, dish detergent, an all-purpose cleaner, stainless steel cleaner, extra sponges, and microfiber cloths.

And while you’re at it, you might as well organize your utensil drawer too!

While you’re organizing under your sinks, it’s also a great time to think about downsizing your cleaning products to simplify your clean routine.

I hope this list helps you figure out where to start organizing this month in preparation for Spring! Of course, you don’t have to tackle every space at once or all of these spaces in one month, but if you do, it’ll be life-changing!
